Mercy Air is a Christian NGO registered in South Africa as a Section 21 organization. Since 1991, Mercy Air has provided flight services to humanitarian and mission organizations throughout Southern Africa. We are based in White River, South Africa. From here, we help people in need – regardless of origin, gender or religious affiliation.
We help where no other help will go. Hard-to-reach places in particular are regularly supplied by air.
Anyone who has been abroad knows how difficult otherwise simple things can be to arrange there. That’s why I chose VDM as my sending organization. They not only advise and accompany me in all labor law related matters to my stay abroad, but also take care of the administration of donations.
Missionaries are working with VDM in around forty countries on all five continents. They work in church building, in theological teaching, in the medical field, in agriculture and in literature work. Or in any other area to which they have been called by God.
About me
During my training as a professional pilot at the Lufthansa flight school in Frankfurt and Rostock, I already had the desire not only to keep the privilege of being a pilot for myself, but also to use it to serve and help other people.
After 7 years of preparation and various other qualifications on and off the runway, I am now allowed to use my gifts as a missionary pilot in South Africa.
